Abstract
The first-ever international book dedicated exclusively to motherhood in relation to fashion.The book M&Others explores the fascinating interplay between fashion and motherhood through written, visual, and material sources from the 17th century to today. [...] It focuses not only on biological motherhood but also on all those who identify with the maternal experience, from fosters mothers and stepmothers to artistic mothers or mentors such as Madeleine Vionnet.
M&Others embraces a multitude of voices and experiences, featuring articles by international researchers on prominent figures such as Jeanne Lanvin, Sonia Rykiel, Christian Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent.
